Jacob Gyntelberg is the Director of the Economic and Risk Analysis (ERA) Department at the European Banking Authority (EBA). The Department is responsible for the analysis of risks and vulnerabilities in the EU banking sector as well as of the EU-wide stress testing function at the EBA. The ERA department is also in charge of ESG related activities of the EBA as well as impact assessments of regulatory and supervisory measures. Also he is the Chair of the EBA stress test task force and of the task force on macroprudential matters.

Prior to joining the EBA, Jacob worked for nearly 10 years in the private sector - most recently as Deputy Chief Risk officer for the Nordea Group. He has also worked more than 12 years as a Senior and Principal economist at the Bank for International Settlements.

Jacob has published several articles in international journals and BIS publications focused on financial markets, economic and regulatory developments. His most recent research is on the cost of capital for banks.

Jacob holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Copenhagen.
