Prof. Dr. Hans-Peter Burghof has been the head of the Banking and Financial Services department at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart since 2003. He trained as a banker and studied economics, addressing banking supervision and credit-risk transfer in his doctoral and post-doctoral theses.
Both areas are very problematic and gained in importance and public interest during the latest financial crisis. His main areas of expertise are credit financing, risk management and banking systems. He is also involved in Stuttgart’s development as a financial center, as part of the Stuttgart Financial Initiative.
